A roundup of biking related news from the past few weeks:
There have been
several
articles
about the opening of more tunnels along the John Wayne Trail. According to
this article from the Mountains to Sound Greenway
, two near Lake Easton are now open and two more farther along near Thorp, although it sounds like you need to sign a waiver before crossing.
The original Biking Bis blog post also points out
that the shuttle bus up and down 90 that would transport riders between Cedar Falls and Hyak is no longer running,
see here for more details
.
A segment of the
East Lake Sammamish Trail
is now paved
.
The Linden Cycle Track is now complete.
Cascade
and the
Seattle Bike Blog
also have nice articles.
There's a n
ew bike counter at the bridge crossing into West Seattle
, joining the existing one in Fremont. They detect bikes by using buried inductive loops (
like the ones used for detecting cars at traffic lights
), but tuned for bikes.
