A summary of the latest biking and outdoor news from around the area:

-The Linden Cycle Track is nearly complete and looks great; I would expect an opening later this month.

(Update: it's now complete!)

-There were many articles recently about the UW proposal to redesign and upgrade 1.7 miles of the Burke-Gilman trail around the University. This article in the Seattle Transit Blog has a good summary. You can support the project and receive more information here.

-The Green River Trail will have significant construction closures for at least several weeks.

-Bicycle Bis has an informative post on with the latest developments with the Timberline Mountain Bike Area on Mt Hood, slated to open for the 2014 season.

-The first major Mt Adams climbing report of the permit season mentions limited parking at the trailhead, the impacts of the 2012 fire, and current conditions.

-The latest Mt St Helens climbing report shows dry conditions for about a mile at the start of the winter route, snow around 3,500ft and the ridges starting to melt out.
