Olympic National Park - Whiskey Bend Rd closed 4 weeks - Feb 28, 2012

The Park Service announced that Whiskey Bend Rd will be closed for roughly four weeks for repair. The closure will cut off access to the Whiskey Bend Trailhead. From the road conditions page:

The road will be closed to all public access beginning February 28 for approximately 4 weeks for road repair.

This closure is in addition to the ongoing area closure due to the dam removal:

All areas west and downhill of the Whiskey Bend Road are closed to public entry due to dam removal activities and quickly changing sediment conditions around Lake Mills.

In short, March does not seem like the best time to visit the Whiskey Bend Trailhead and surrounding area.
