The Forest Service has a couple of notes about closures in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Forest Road 90 will be closed about 5 miles beyond Cougar, near the bridge over the canal at the east end of Swift Reservoir. I believe this will block easy access to Forest Road 25 and therefore the climbing routes. From the report:

Forest Road 90 will close for two days on Sept. 13 and 14 limiting all travel along FR 90 in and out of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest along this route. The closure will occur approximately five miles east of Cougar, Wash. No detours are available, though all areas will remain accessible via other routes.

Also, the same news release mentions that Forest Road 54 is closed till September 23rd to repair a slide:

Please also remember FR 54 is closed until Sept. 23, 2011 to repair a large slide near this road’s entrance to the west side of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
