CLIMBING ROUTE INFORMATION

Weather in the mountains during the winter is very unpredictable.  We have several feet of new snow on Mt. Adams.  Please check weather and avalanche reports before climbing, carry your ten essentials, and prepare accordingly. Climbers may be ascending the winter route via the Suksdorf Ridge, depending upon snow depth.  While climbing ALWAYS carry crampons and an ice axe.  Do not climb in hazardous weather.  Help is a very long time coming and cannot get to you in poor weather.  Prepare to melt snow for your water source on the route. Everything you take on the mountain take off the mountain (Pack it in Pack it out).

Know before you GO: Review forecasts by the National Weather Service (www.noaa.gov) and any special postings by the NW Weather and Avalanche Center (http://www.nwac.us/) prior to any mountaineering.

ROAD CONDITIONS

We have received enough snow to close the 8040 Road from Morrison Campground on.   If you can access the Cold Spring parking lot all vehicles must display a valid Recreation Pass.
